Free Concert Saturday

My husband is part of the duo Reeds and Keys (he’s the “Reeds”); he’s also the Band Director at Rex Putnam High School. Barnes and Noble runs a generous fundraiser for area groups at different times of the year – this Saturday, it’s a fundraiser for the Rex Putnam Band Program.

There are very strict rules concerning this fundraiser. My husband says, “Customers must say to the cashier that they are here supporting the RPHS band.  If they don’t we will not get credit for the purchase.” There is, however, a Barnes and Noble Fundraiser Information Sheet to carry along with you as a reminder.

This Saturday from 3 to 9, there will be a variety of concerts at Barnes and Noble bookstore at the Clackamas Town Center. Here’s the schedule of events:

• Brass Quintet performs from 3:00-4:30pm
• Saxophone Ensemble performs from 4:30-6:00pm
• Woodwind Ensemble performs from 6:00-7:30pm
• Reeds and Keys (Mr. Wilson and Mr. Winston) performs from 7:30-9:00pm
• Get your gifts wrapped by RPHS Band Parents from 3:00-9:00pm

Consider buying one of these Good Reads while you’re there (you might have to order them), just remember to tell them it’s for Putnam’s band!
